Perth, ON
K7H 3C7
Who’s it for?Style paddlers, intermediate canoeists, and trippers who want to learn some functional paddling with flair or Paddle Canada or ORCKA instructors looking for maintenance clinics.
While only those over 16 will paddle, there’s plenty at the park to engage kids and families: a real mica mine to tour, hiking, swimming, and park activities.
Historic Perth and it’s Stewart Park Music Festival (July 18-20, 2025) are just 20 minutes away. The Park protects cottagers on Round Lake by allowing only those camped at the group site to use the lake. So, it will be a very special event without the busy-ness of the Park’s main campsite and beaches.
Note, this event is for paddler’s aged 16+ If you are UNDER THE AGE OF 18, you will need a legal guardian to complete the ORCKA form during the registration process.
We encourage you to bring non-paddling friends and family to enjoy the campsite, park, and surrounding area!
How it works
Backcountry-style camping on large group site. Everyone brings their own camping gear, stove, food, canoe, PFD, paddles, etc. (Exceptions for international visitors – Please ask!) (No electricity. Showers at main park campsite.) Camp for a night or stay the whole time. There’s fun and learning everyday!
Instruction for paddlers by paddlers. For example, clinics and workshops can be offered by any instructors present. We’ll have Canadian-style solo and tandem clinics and maybe a bit of freestyle. It’s also the perfect place to offer a wild-edibles walk or a bushcraft-basics talk between paddling sessions.
Fees
Camping & Expenses. $25 per participant per day (the registration fee here.)
Free sessions. We’ll have group paddles and paddling demonstrations by instructors and participants and a paddling exhibition on Saturday evening.
Clinics and workshops. Bring $20 per person per session to go directly to the certified instructors. We’ll have several 2-h sessions (including some free ones) every day. We’ll also have Paddle Canada Maintenance Clinics.
Vehicles. Room for 8+ on site. $14.13/per night ($11.53 for seniors) paid to the park. Extra vehicles park at a park-monitored parking lot nearby. (We’ll do cooperative shuttling.)
