  • “Meeting them where they are at” - Let us know what Basic Canoe Skills Level you are trying to attain and let’s work together to make that happen!

Whatever level you are trying to attain, we can help make that happen. These courses are designed to be fun, interactive, and provide plenty of time to practice the skills necessary to maneuver a canoe for each level's requirement. Our Instructors provide the groundwork for you and ample time to practice the techniques, along with tons of tips and tricks to help you understand the dynamics of each technical paddle stroke.

    Basic Canoe Skills Level 1-3

Participants will progress from having little to no experience paddling a canoe with a partner to having a comprehensive understanding of safety and techniques related to tandem canoeing. Level 1 is an introductory course to the primary paddling strokes and involves basic paddling drills and activities; Level 2 builds upon the foundational skills built in the previous course and includes additional skills and drills; Level 3 is the most advanced tandem Basic Canoeing certification and requires little to no room for error when demonstrating skills to the instructor.

    Basic Canoe Skills Level 4

This course is a solo canoe course which utilizes a number of the skills learnt in Basic Canoeing Levels 1-3, however these techniques are applied slightly differently. Through using effective and efficient paddling strokes, participants will learn how to fully maneuver a canoe as a solo paddler.
