Fees Include: ORCKA Program manual, 2022 ORCKA membership, 1 year subscription to Paddle Magazine
Participant is responsible for PFD, paddle, safety kit, and kayak (contact us if you have equipment concerns).

Accommodations: Camping accommodation is available on site at no cost for the duration of the course. Alternate accommodations can be found at Agnew Lake Lodge which is 5 minutes away by kayak or car.
Meal Plan: A meal plan is available on site for $225 which includes breakfast, lunch, dinner Monday to Thursday and breakfast and lunch on Friday. If you opt for this plan, please indicate any dietary restrictions you may have. Meals are timed with course content.
Prerequisites:
1. At least 16 years of age
2. Current ORCKA Member (membership is included in the program participant fee)
3. ORCKA Flatwater Kayaking or ORCKA Flatwater Kayaking Level B, equivalent certification or comparable skills and experience (with the permission of the Course Director)
4. At least three separate kayaking excursions of at least three hours and 15 km each 5. It is strongly recommended that all Flatwater Kayaking Instructors have, in addition to their kayaking qualifications, some qualification in Swimming, First Aid and CPR
Kayak Type: The “demonstration quality” safety and skill manoeuvres of Flatwater Kayaking and the teaching component of this Flatwater Kayaking Instructor Course may be accomplished in the type of kayak described in the Flatwater Kayaking course outline (any type of kayak that has a cockpit). We recommend a kayak with cockpit plus 2 bulkheads. Contact us if you have questions.
