ORCKA Voyageur Distance Award Paddling Program

The ORKCA Voyageur Distance Award Paddling Program is designed to promote and recognize paddling achievements using a logged distance process.

Voyageur Distance Award Badges are awarded for accumulated canoeing or kayaking distances. You can send for your badge when your total canoeing or kayaking distance has reached or surpassed any of the following:

  • 100 kilometres
  • 250 kilometres
  • 500 kilometres
  • 1000 kilometres
  • 3000 kilometres
  • 5000 kilometres

Here’s what you do

  1. Whenever you go canoeing or kayaking, even if you only go a few kilometres, enter it on your “Voyageur Distance Award Achievement Record Sheet”.

  2. Record the following information:
    • The date
    • Where you canoed
    • How far you canoed
    • Your new total distance

  3. Get a witness to initial each of the entries on your “Voyageur Distance Award Achievement Record Sheet”. Kids get an adult; adults get someone who was with you on the trip.

  4. When your total reaches 100, 250, 500, 1000, 3000, or 5000 kilometres, send your “Voyageur Distance Award Achievement Record Sheet” and $5.00 (includes GST) to:
  5. Ontario Recreational Canoeing and Kayaking Association
    3 Concorde Gate, Suite 209
    Toronto, ON M3C 3N7

  6. ORCKA will return your “Voyageur Distance Award Achievement Record Sheet” along with your Voyageur Distance Award Badge.

  7. You continue to enter your canoeing or kayaking distances on your “Voyageur Distance Award Achievement Record Sheet” until you have enough kilometres for the next Voyageur Distance Award Badge.
